BULAWAYO-Southern Region Division One side Ratanang FC has joined forces with Nokel, a security company which will assist the football club financially.
The partnership was sealed Monday at Nokel Security offices in Bulawayo. Benson Dube the Nokel Marketing Manager and Ratanang’s Chairperson Tedious Ngwenya represented the two parties as they held a joint press briefing to announce the alliance.
Dube said the union is part of Nokel Security’s cooperate social responsibility. “We believe in giving back to the community and this time we chose to partner with a soccer team. We are capacitating youths and the community at large,” he said.
“It is a big boost for our club and we are looking forward to working with Nokel.
This team started as a social club during the lockdown in Cowdray Park. We came up with this project after realising that most of the youth in our community were idle and we decided to occupy them,” said Ngwenya.
Locals and diasporans including South African based singer and club President, Bhekimpilo Sibanda popularly known as Mr Breeze, have been funding the 18 months old club.
The Innocent Mapuranga and Chipo Tsodzo coached outfit are in fifth position on the table and eight points behind log leaders Hwange FC.
