CAMFED Zimbabwe empowers 18,000 learners in 2024

As the year comes to a close, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has commended CAMFED Zimbabwe for its remarkable efforts in supporting 18,000 learners in 2024.

This achievement is a testament to the organization’s dedication to enhancing the right to education for marginalized communities.

According to Permanent Secretary Moses Mhika, CAMFED Zimbabwe’s generosity has given girls a chance to excel in their studies, contributing to the country’s efforts to build an inclusive educational system.

“This has given a girl child a chance to perform to the best of their ability as the country makes efforts to build an inclusive educational system that has welcomed even teenage mothers,” Mhika said during the Stakeholder Annual General Meeting in Bulawayo.

CAMFED Co-National Director Justina Hama emphasized CAMFED Zimbabwe’s commitment to educating more people in the country, with plans to intensify their programs in 2025.

“Our vision is to educate 5 million marginalized girls as empowerment to better their lives,” Hama said. She also highlighted Zimbabwe’s pioneering role in the program, stating that the country has to be the trendsetter in Africa.

By supporting marginalized learners, CAMFED Zimbabwe is helping to break the cycle of poverty and empower future generations. As the organization continues to expand its programs, it is clear that their impact will be felt for years to come.
