Mambale’s own nursing graduate extraordinaire

Hard work and dedication has finally paid off for a young man from Mambale, Plumtree, Lindokuhle Maphosa (25) who graduated with flying colours and scooped numerous awards during a graduation ceremony.
Maphosa graduated from Mpilo Hospital School of Nursing together with other 300 nursing graduates on Friday the 20th of October at ZITF grounds in Bulawayo.
The high achiever, who commenced his training in 2020 outshone his colleagues, winning the Clinical Instructor’s Trophy, for the best nurse in ward management with good practical skills and leadership qualities. He also claimed the Florence Ndlovu Trophy which honours the student who scored the highest marks in the Zimbabwe Nurses Council examination per group. In addition, he earned the Health Care Resources Shield and Bronze medal Award for maintaining a consistently good practical standard during training.
Maphosa also walked away with the National Bronze Award which he was awarded for obtaining the highest marks in the General Nursing State Final National Examinations. Moreover, he scooped the Giba Giegy (Gold) Standard Award and Edgars Shield for best graduating nurse in his stream.
Speaking to Community Podium, Maphosa stated that it has always been his childhood dream to work in the medical field. He commended the introduction of the online application system as it made applicatiin for the opportunity easier.
At the time of applying, the selfless young man volunteered to assist other aspiring applicants from his local area who had no access to the internet to submit their applications online.
