New classroom block unveiled at Lupane school

Mtshibini Adventist Primary School in Lupane District hosted a ceremony on January 6, 2024, to inaugurate a newly constructed classroom block, made possible by the collaborative efforts of the School Development Committee (SDC) and the local community.
Attendees included school staff, students, parents, and the guest of honor, Pastor Dr. Jefrety Sibanda, the Education Director of the Zimbabwe West Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
The newly unveiled classroom block comprises two spacious and well-equipped rooms capable of accommodating up to 80 learners, along with two storerooms. Sikhathele Tshuma, the school’s headmistress, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to the SDC and community members for their contributions to the project, emphasizing its potential to enhance the quality of education and the learning environment for students.
Pastor Dr. Sibanda lauded the school for its accomplishments and encouraged students to utilize the new facilities effectively. He underscored the school’s significance as a positive force for both children and the wider community, urging parents to actively support their children’s education and collaborate with the school to ensure its long-term sustainability.
“Education is the cornerstone of success and our nation’s development. I applaud Mtshibini Primary School for its commitment to providing quality education. This new classroom block exemplifies the power of community collaboration. I implore you, students, to seize this opportunity and strive for academic excellence. You are the future leaders of our nation, with the capacity to effect meaningful change,” remarked Pastor Sibanda.
Bongani Tshabalala, a parent and member of the SDC, echoed sentiments of excitement, citing the construction of the block as a significant milestone in improving school infrastructure and fostering a conducive learning environment. “Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the parents who persevered through challenging economic conditions, contributing their hard-earned funds towards the building project, culminating in today’s celebration,” expressed Tshabalala.
The ceremony concluded with a tour of the new block, eliciting expressions of enthusiasm and gratitude from both students and teachers.
