Gold heist suspects nabbed

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested some of the men who are suspected to be part of a syndicate that robbed How Mine of 11.9 kgs of gold estimated around 650 000 USD.
Nine other accomplices involved in the heist are still at large. The vehicle transporting the gold from the mine to Fidelity Printers in Bulawayo was intercepted by the robbers at the 21 km peg along the Bulawayo-How Mine Road.
According to a press statement by Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the trio, Antony Moyo 39, Wilson Mutandwa 24 and Eanerst Mutandwa 30 were apprehended following a tip off to the effect that some of the stolen gold had been dumbed at a house under construction along Folly Road, Westsumerton Bulawayo.
Asst Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “Detectives reacted to the report and recovered car keys, 3 x 9mmm spent cartridges, black glove , a 330 rifle loaded with eight live rounds and three empty metal boxes”.
A South African registered Nissan NP 300 single cab vehicle with registration number HR30XJGP that was discovered at the scene belongs to Ximba Nkosilathi also known as Tonderai Vumbunu which at times was seen being driven by Antony Moyo who was arrested before implicating the two Mutandwas. Earnest was arrested in Beitbridge as he attempted to flee to South Africa.
ZRP is appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the remaining syndicate members who include Abraham Vumbunu , Elijah Vumbunu, Israel Zulu, Diva and other six who are unknown.
