Dagga and crystal meth are the most trafficked drugs in Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has identified dagga and crystal meth as the most trafficked drugs both into and out of Zimbabwe.
National Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi was speaking revealed this finding to Community Podium.
Asst. Commissioner Nyathi said according to the arrests that they have made in relation to drugs since the birth of operation, ‘No to drugs and substance abuse’ these are the most trafficked and used drugs.
“We continue intensifying the operation to safeguard the youths and yesterday in Kariba we arrested a soccer player who plays in the premier league as he was involved in drug trafficking though i can not avail more information on the case as investigations are still underway,” he said.
On 29 April , security forces at Beitbridge border post nabbed a 37 year old man Godsave Ndou and Tapelo Ndlovu aged 39 when they were found in possession of 5.5 kilograms of dagga which they intended to sneak into the country.
On the same day, Tsholotsho ZRP arrested Zanele Fumula after they found 106 sachets of dagga at her home in Ngqoya.
In October last year, a 43 year old Indian female tourist was arrested in Victoria Falls after she was also found with drugs. In 2021 , a South African 50 year old lady Shiela Khumalo was also sentenced to 12 years in prison for smuggling cocaine from France to Zimbabwe through Ethopia and security forces at Robert Mugabe International Airport did a random search upon arrival at the airport and found her with 60 satchets of contraband, 58 of which she had swallowed.
In February 2023 Zimfact issued a statement alleging “drugs are being smuggled into the country from abroad but mostly through Zimbabwe’s land borders with Mozambique and South Africa, which are also facing drug trafficking problems.”
Authorities say some small amounts of illicit drugs, concoctions and alcohol are also manufactured in townships in Zimbabwe’s major towns like Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru and Mutare.
Drugs have become a major challenge in Zimbabwean and became pervasive from 2020 where most people spent a lot of time indoors and this compelled the government to introduce the “No to drugs and substances” operation in 2021. As of 30 April 2023, 5865 people had been arrested under the operation.
