The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) joined the chorus of grief following the passing of former Senator and Provincial Affairs Minister Eunice Sandi Moyo. She was 78.

In a statement, Bulawayo Mayor Senator David Coltart praised Moyo’s unwavering commitment to the development of Bulawayo, the wider Matabeleland region, and the entire nation.

“The council and people of Bulawayo express their deepest sorrow and condolence at the loss of a leader and mother figure who was always available to serve diligently and faithfully,” said Coltart.

Moyo, also known as Cde Sandi Moyo, passed away on Thursday morning at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo after a long battle with hypertension. She was remembered for her dedication to the city’s revival, a quality that Senator Coltart noted will be sorely missed.

Mourners are currently gathered at House Number 17 Onslow, Sunninghill in Bulawayo.
