Building hope: Tsholotsho registry office takes shape

Excitement buzzes through Tsholotsho South’s ward 18, Nkunzi area, as plans to construct a much-needed registry office in the heart of the community are quickly taking shape. With builders gearing up to start work on-site next week, locals are eagerly anticipating the positive impact this development will bring to the area.
Speaking to Community Podium, Tsholotsho South Member of Parliament, Musa Ncube, shared insights into the significance of this project. “The new registry office will provide much-needed relief to elders in our community, especially those caring for grandchildren from South Africa, who face challenges in accessing essential documentation,” Ncube revealed.
The current registry, housed in a temporary setup within the Ministry of Health, has long been inadequate for the community’s needs, prompting the decision to construct a dedicated office space. Positioned just 100 meters from Nkunzi clinic, the new registry will serve as a vital hub for residents seeking official documentation and services.
Highlighting the broader impact of the project, Ncube emphasized that the benefits would extend not only to ward 18 but also to neighbouring wards 20, 16, 15, and 17, among others. The initiative is made possible through the Community Development Fund (CDF), with support pouring in from various sources, including the diaspora community and generous well-wishers.
Ward 18 councillor, David Mpala, expressed the community’s urgent need for the new structure, stating, “This registry office will address a pressing gap in our community’s infrastructure, providing essential services close to home for our residents.”
One resident, Mrs. Sibanda, a grandmother who cares for her grandchildren, shared her anticipation, saying, “I am looking forward to having a nearby registry office where I can easily access the documents I need to ensure my grandchildren’s well-being and future.”
With construction set to commence imminently, hopes are high that the new registry office will not only streamline administrative processes but also serve as a symbol of progress and community support in Tsholotsho.
