ZimRights Pushes for Inclusion on Albinism Awareness Day

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) joined the global call for inclusion on International Albinism Awareness Day, expressing strong solidarity with people with albinism. This year’s theme, “10 years of IAAD: A decade of collective progress,” highlights the advancements made in advocating for the rights of this community worldwide.
While acknowledging the strides taken, ZimRights emphasized the ongoing challenges. “We have witnessed significant strides in the movement for albinism rights,” a ZimRights statement reads. “However, the journey is far from over.” This measured approach underscores the progress achieved while advocating for continued efforts to ensure the full enjoyment of rights by people with albinism.
ZimRights has been a leading voice in dispelling myths surrounding albinism. Through advocacy, awareness campaigns, and support programs, they aim to foster an inclusive society where diversity is celebrated, and each individual is respected regardless of appearance.
