CCC members’ trial postponed

Six Bulawayo members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) have had their court cases postponed to one and 17 November.

Gift Ostallos Siziba, MP for Pelandaba-Tshabalala,  Surrender  Kapoikilu, MP for Bulawayo Central, Ward 20 councillor Simbarashe Dube, Ward 14 councillor Lovewell Mwinde, former councillor,  Alderman Earnest Rafamoyo, and party member Tendai Masotsha appeared at the West Commonage Magistrates Court yesterday for the continuation of their two alleged crimes.

The six are accused of defacing a political poster and criminally insulting a party member, Soneni Moyo, who ran as a double candidate in Pelandaba-Tshabalala against Siziba.

For the criminal insult charge, the state noted that one of  its three witnesses  is writing her final examinations and is expected  to finish before  17 November hence the trial of the case will commence on 17 November. For the second charge on defacing Moyo’s poster, they will appear in court on the 1st of November.

The six are  represented  by Tinashe Runganga of Tanaka Law Chambers.

The accused persons allegedly removed and tore Moyo’s poster at Pelandaba shops while insulting  and calling her a sellout and President Mnangagwa’s prostitute on 11 August  between 6pm and 6:30pm.
