Villagers appeal for assistance for clinic completion

Villagers in Ward 11 of Tsholotsho district are appealing for assistance from well wishers to complete the construction of Nanda Clinic which started in 2013.
The local councillor, Jonathan Ndlovu said the clinic needs building materials such as doors, air ventilators, paint, water and cement in order for it to be a bona fide health facility.
“I appeal to my fellow councillors and the mayor of Tsholotsho Esau Siwela to speed up the construction of Nanda Clinic to attain the vision of the health minister, which is ‘improving access to health services by the people.’ Nanda Clinic needs 9 doors 20 air ventilators cement and paint as well as a water source to meet the minimum standards of a health facility”, he said.
Ndlovu expressed gratitude to those who have already partnered in the initiative. “We are grateful to all the people who have pledged to assist the construction of Nanda clinic including Owen Sibanda, Evelyn Nkomo, Sthandazile Moyo, Mqondisi Zikhali and others. I also wish to appeal to the Nanda sons and daughters to join hands and join us in bringing health care to the doorstep of our community”, said Ndlovu.
The councillor also revealed that the clinic is a brain child of the late village head Mkhafuleni Dube.
This project was wholly sponsored by the community of Mayeza and Ngubomlilo villages in ward 11.When council and the rest of ward 11 community realised the progress of this project, they joined forces with Mkhafuleni (Khafu) and Tsholotsho Rural District Council provided several loads of quarry stones, river sand and 200 bags of cement in support of the project. The community weighed in by installing a state of the art roof for the clinic worth 50000 United States dollars.
This past week Nanda Clinic hosted government doctors who are visiting all health centres, giving medical advice and treatment. This is despite the fact that there are no doors,air vents and window panes at the clinic.
“This, for me as area councillor, marks a milestone in the development of ward 11 and Zimbabwe in general”, said Ndlovu.
