Government issuing national documents for free

The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural heritage has announced that it has scraped fees for national registration documents for local citizens.
According to a press statement released by the ministry, Cabinet has approved the waiving of fees to Zimbabwean citizens that seek to obtain birth certificates, national identity documents, and livestock brand certificates.
Minister Kazembe Kazembe encouraged citizens to utilize the opportunity and ensure that they obtain the relevant documents during this period.
“In line with his Excellency, President E. D Mnangagwa mantra that no one and no place is left behind, I encourage fellow citizens to take advantage of this opportunity and ensure that everyone is registered.” he said.
The Ministry is conducting a nation wide registration excercise which commenced on the 1st day of April 2022 and will end on the 31st day of September 2022.
“Registration requirements have been relaxed with immediate effect, to ensure that every individual is assited to get the documents they require during the national registration excercise,” said Kazembe.
The program is meant to clear the back log on the issuance of national documents which was caused by the Covid 19 pandemic and also to enable citizens to obtain the required documents that will enable them to register as voters for the upcoming 2023 election.
