Polish generosity drills hope in drought-stricken Inyathi school

A new project launched by the Polish business community, led by Tomasz Błaszak and Adam Golinski, will drill and install a borehole at Mucklenuck Primary School in Inyathi, a village struggling with drought. This initiative goes beyond simply providing clean water; it aims to empower children, strengthen communities, and build resilience in the face of climate challenges.
The project understands the devastating impact water scarcity has on education. Children often miss school to fetch water, hindering their academic progress and well-being. By providing a reliable source of clean water, the borehole will improve the health and learning environment for students, staff, and the surrounding community.
But the initiative doesn’t stop there. They believe in involving the school community in every step, from planning to maintenance, fostering a sense of ownership and ensuring the project’s long-term success. Miss Agnieszka Zyzman, representing the project’s international relations, emphasizes their belief that “every child deserves access to clean water,” and highlights the project’s potential to “counter hunger and starvation” during droughts.
School Head Sukoluhle Moyo praised the ‘life-changing’ gesture of the sponsors, stating it will alleviate water woes for students, teachers, and the entire community.
“This borehole unlocks a future of self-sufficiency for our school,” beamed Moyo. “Not only will students have more learning time, but we can now pursue income-generating projects like fish farming, agriculture, and poultry, boosting our finances and benefiting the entire community with clean water access.”
This project reflects the Polish business community’s passionate commitment to social development in Zimbabwe.
