Chameja Primary School gets a donation of goats

In a generous display of support for education and agriculture, Lupane West Member of Parliament Mxolisi Charles Sibanda donated four goats to Chameja Primary School during the school’s annual speech and prize-giving day.

The event, held last Friday, highlighted the importance of integrating agriculture into the school curriculum as part of the new heritage-based educational framework.

As the guest of honor, Hon. Sibanda emphasized the critical role that agriculture plays in the development of students’ practical skills.

“This donation aims to augment our new heritage-based curriculum, where agriculture is now one of the key subjects,” he stated. “It is essential for our children to learn not only in the classroom but also through practical, hands-on experiences that will prepare them for future opportunities.”

During his speech, Sibanda encouraged the students to embrace agricultural practices as a means of ensuring food security and economic independence.

“These goats will serve as a starting point for our students to understand the value of livestock farming. I urge you all to take care of them and learn from this experience,” he added.

Shadreck Ncube, the headmaster of Chameja Primary School, expressed his gratitude for the donation, highlighting its significance in enhancing the school’s agricultural program.

“We are thankful to Hon. Sibanda for this generous gift. It will not only benefit our students academically but also provide practical learning opportunities that are crucial in today’s world,” Ncube remarked.
