The Binga baTonga Cultural Festival: A milestone towards promoting the baTonga culture

Binga District held a three-day baTonga cultural festival from September 27 to September 29, 2024.
The event featured a number of organizations exhibiting and selling their traditional or culture-related products, such as herbs, traditional foods, and other items.
Chief Siabuwa of Ward 2 in Binga North, the guest of honor at the ceremony, shared some insights during his keynote address. He emphasized that the baTonga people must preserve their culture and pass it on to the younger generation. “The younger generation must embrace culture so that we can understand how our forefathers lived long ago,” Chief Siabuwa stated.
David Mungombe, the event director of baTonga culture, also expressed his appreciation during the event. He thanked the organizations that traveled from various places to witness the three-day celebration. He also acknowledged the different cultural dance groups, including Ngoma Buntibe, that performed during the event.
Additionally, various artists performed, including DT Bio Mudimba and his crew, Isaac Munkombwe, Marvellous Tshuma, Mesline Munenge, and many others, contributing to the success of the three-day event.
