Lupane West MP urges farmers to prepare for the cropping season

Lupane West MP, Honorable Mxolisi Charles Sibanda, has called on local farmers to gear up for the upcoming cropping season, emphasizing the importance of utilizing knowledge gained from Agricultural, Technical and Extension (AGRITEX) workers.

In a recent community meeting, Sibanda encouraged farmers to plant small grain crops, which are well-suited to the region’s climatic conditions.“Preparation is key to a successful season,” said Sibanda. “I urge all farmers to implement the methods taught by our AGRITEX workers. These practices have been proven to enhance yields and improve food security in our communities.”

I’m excited to see how this will improve my harvest.”

Another farmer, Thokozani Moyo, shared his experience with small grains. “Last season, I planted maize, but the drought severely affected my yield,” Moyo recounted. “This year, I will follow the AGRITEX advice and plant sorghum instead. I believe it will help me recover from last season’s losses.”
