Byo police nab gang behind spree of break-ins

Bulawayo’s CID Hillside arrested four men – Sindiso Moyo (34), Qinisani Ndlovu (30), Privilege Shumba (36), and Vusa Tshuma (35) – for a series of break-ins targeting homes in Morningside, Fortunesgate, and Hillside.
The suspects are accused of stealing electronics like TVs, generators, lithium batteries and cameras from at least six properties.
According to provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube, “these have been terrorising Bulawayo residents through unlawful entry and getting away with property unnoticed.
Ncube elaborated on a specific incident, stating, “On 8 February, the accused individuals scaled a durawall in Hillside, forced open the main door using a metal object, gained entry into the house and stole a 65 inch curve Samsung television set, two solar batteries, an inverter compressor, Hp laptop, cannon camera and went away unnoticed until the following morning where the gardener who was home alone discovered that the goods had been stolen.”
A tip on March 3rd led police to Vusa Tshuma, who was allegedly involved in the robberies and used a blue Honda Fit to transport stolen goods. Tshuma’s arrest led to the apprehension of his accomplices.
Working with the suspects, detectives recovered some of the stolen property.
”Most of the property is yet to be recovered. We invite anyone who lost property during unlawful entries to come to Hillside Police Station to make identifications,” said Inspector Ncube.
The total value of stolen items is estimated at USD$28,985, with USD$19,000 recovered so far. Investigations revealed Sindiso Moyo has a prior conviction for a similar offense. The police investigation is ongoing.
