Govt okays inter city travel
Government has approved the resumption of inter-city travel which was previously restricted due to the COVID19 pandemic.
Posting on Twitter, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services Nick Mangwana said cabinet approved the resumption of inter-city travel to facilitate the movement of examination candidates, citizens and tourism visitors. The transporters who wish to carry passengers should register with the Ministry of Transport and comply with WHO Covid19 regulations.
Furthermore, only international travellers are expected to provide a 48 hour Covid19 negative certificate.
“Cabinet also approved the reopening of Central Registry to commence the issuance of birth certificates, death certificates, national IDs and passports. Measures are being put in place to avoid overcrowding and compliance with COVID19 Regulations”
Cabinet further approved the partial re-opening of the Department of Immigration to process investor work permits, issuance of visas at ports of entry and resume enforcement operations through the compliance section.
