CDF funds channelled towards schools’ development in Lupane

Member of National Assembly for Lupane East, Hon. Mbongeni Dube has allocated part of the Constituency Development Fund to two newly established schools in his constituency.
The two schools are Dumoluhle Secondary school at Ndamuleni in Gwamba Ward and Ziqalabeni Primary school at Ziqalabeni Village, in Lupaka Ward. The funds have helped finance the ongoing construction of classroom blocks at both schools.
Speaking during a tour of the school development projects, Hon. Dube intimated his wish to see all children access education with ease at proximate schools in contrast to the current situation, were young ones have to walk very long distances just to get to school.
“My wish is to see every child in my constituency get access to education and this can only be achieved by them attending school within their vicinity, in keeping with their constitutional right” said Hon. Dube.
The establishment and development of Dumoluhle Secondary School comes as a relief to learners who have had to travel all the way to Lupane centre and St Paul’s for their secondary education.
Before the establishment of Ziqalabeni Primary school at Ziqalabeni village, pupils used to endure a 12km distance walk to Lupaka Primary School.
A villager from Ziqalabeni Mrs Elina Dube thanked Hon Dube for availing funds for the establishment of a new school in their area.
“This is a dream come true to us. I have been praying for our own school in our area because our children have been burdened with walking a long distance to attend school at Lupaka. As if the long distance was not enough trouble, the road to the school in Lupaka goes through a thick bush that exposes them danger” said a relieved Mrs Dube.
The MP however expressed disappointment on community members who drag their feet when it comes to issues of development and said this this lack of seriousness is responsible for the delays and stalling of community projects.
“I am disappointed by the slow implementation of these projects by communities as this unnecessarily delays the completion of the projects and such behaviour is deterrent to well-wishers and would-be sponsors of projects,” said Hon Dube
