Byo man murders wife over messages

A Bulawayo man allegedly murdered his wife in cold blood after stumbling upon messages that revealed an extra-marital affair on her mobile phone.
Mgcini Lunga, 30 of Pelandaba surbub has since been arrested by the police for killing his 23-year old wife Nicole Mabvure.
A statement made by ZRP Bulawayo assistant spokesperson, Nomalanga Msebele said; “On the 3rd day of May 2022 the now deceased who was now based in South Africa, visited Lunga at his home. During their meeting he asked to see her cellphone…he discovered compromising pictures and love chat messages with a suspected boyfriend.
The discovery led to a misunderstanding between the two and at that moment Lunga got hold of a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim several times on her body resulting in her death. “
A police report was made by a neighbour leading to police attendeding the scene and a blood stained kitchen knife and a rope were recovered at the scene. The deceased’s body was conveyed to United Bulawayo Hospital for post mortem.
In her statement, Msebele called on the public to desist from using violence in solving disputes. “We urge members of the public to refrain from the use of violence in solving disputes. They should rather approach the police, church leaders, resident leaders and other relevant personnel to avoid such tragedies,” she said.
