Plumtree film ‘Lebo’ set to premiere

Ndolwane Movie Project is set  launch a short film titled  “Lebo” on  November 11, 2023.

In an interview  with Community Podium, Ndolwane Movie Project development facilitator, Norton Sibindi said the short film carries is replete with life lessons.

“We  needed to tell stories that people see with their own eyes and relate with their own experiences as they  draw lessons, grow consciousness and construct solutions from the film art hence the movie project,” said Sibindi.

According to Sibindi the project was inspired by the music of Ndolwane Super Sounds, among others.

“Music is  common in telling our community stories as the likes of Ndolwane Super Sounds,Martin Sibanda, Allen Ndoda are living testimonies who have inspired us to tell stories in our community.

We realized a need to tell our own stories differently,” he said.

An excited Sibindi highlighted that the project will create employment for locals in Plumtree.

“This film project will create employment for local people and is a platform to nurture talent from the community  as it will uplift the dignity of our community and set us up for international platforms,” he said.

The film was written by  Andisiwe Sibindi, Fem Studios Bulawayo and 

Directed by Andisiwe Sibindi and Trust Gwasunda, Kelvin Ncube and Background. 

Sibindi said the project is a collaboration of local development facilitators.

“The project also encompasses local business people who have the idea of giving back to the community such as Dumisani Mpofu and Gambule Investments- Mthokozisi B. Ndlovu and a production house from Byo called Fem Studios,” he said.
