3 arrested with 16kg copper cables

Police in Bulawayo have arrested three individuals for the illegal possession of 16kg of copper cables, while another alleged culprit remains at large.
Provincial police spokesperson for Bulawayo, Inspector Abednico Ncube, confirmed the development to Community Podium, highlighting that the trio, identified as Senzeni Moyo (34) of Cowdrypark, Thembani Ngwenya (27), and Louis Ngwenya (25), were apprehended after security forces at the Central Police Base acted swiftly upon receiving a tip-off.
“On the 7th of February 2024, at around 18:40, police officers from Bulawayo Central received information that a silver Honda Fit was transporting copper cables at Mazai Bridge located around 4th Avenue. Acting on the tip-off, they proceeded to the scene and spotted the vehicle being driven along 4th Avenue into the Central Business District (CBD). Police followed until it stopped at a traffic light-controlled intersection. Upon approaching the vehicle and identifying themselves, the driver, Thembelani, was instructed to open the rear passenger door. However, another unidentified accomplice fled the scene. Despite this, police continued their search and found a sack containing 16kg of copper cables in the boot.”
Inspector Ncube seized the opportunity to express appreciation to members of the public for their continued support in combating criminal activities in the city by providing crucial information that aids the police in executing their duties.
