Daily Covid 19 mortality rate plummets

Zimbabwe recorded 68 deaths attributed to Covid 19 in the last 24 hours, a sharp decline from the previous day’s triple figure of 102 deaths.
As at 17 July 2021 Zimbabwe’s Covid 19 cases stood at 82 613 confirmed cases, while there have been 51 923 recoveries and 2 588 deaths since the pandemic registered its presence in the country.
Marondera and Harare recorded the highest number of new Covid 19 cases at 145 and 107 new cases respectively. In total, 1 145 new cases were recorded and they were all local transmissions.
Mashonaland West had the highest number of active cases at 4 177, followed by Harare which had 4130 active cases and Mashonaland East at 3 745.
Manicaland registered 3483 active cases, Midlands 2 901,Mashonaland central 2415, Masvingo 2173, Bulawayo 2 115, Matabeleland north 1781 and lastly Matabeleland south recorded the least figure at 1 182.
The report states that 36 043 people recieved their first dose, bringing cumulative for the first dose to 1 132 045 while 3 651 received their 2nd dose, bringing the total number of people who have taken the 2nd dose to 639 389.
