Zim in COVID19 second wave scare
The Ministry of Health and Childcare reported 300 new cases of COVID19 and one death yesterday.
In a COVID19 report summary for the 30th of December 2020 compiled by the Ministry of Health and Childcare, 300 new cases were recorded. Of these 287 are local cases and 13 are returnees: 4 from South Africa and 9 from Botswana.
2462 PRC tests were done and 87 recoveries reported.
Mpilo acting chief executive officer Professor Solwayo Ngwenya said second wave is blisteringly fast as predicted. It is deadlier than the first wave. I am sure that by now even the doubters can finally see what we have been warning about.
“Enter: the new deadlier, highly infectious new variant. How do we survive this one?” asked Prof Ngwenya posting on his twitter account.
Former MDC T President Dr Thokozani Khuphe yesterday revealed that she tested positive for COVID19
“I have tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating and I ask for your prayers.” she said.
To date Zimbabwe has a total of 2111 active cases and 360 deaths
